We worked on bringing this newly built home to life by curating furniture, art and objects that felt both composed and expressive. The clients wanted a refined, durable, and functional design that could grow alongside their family. The contemporary architecture blends raw materials with natural warmth, creating a rich foundation for the interiors. Our approach was to ground the architecture with pieces that carry a familiar language: calm, sophisticated, and quietly full of personality.
The home office was designed as a calm counterpoint to the rhythm of family life - a space for clear thinking and quiet focus. At its centre, the Ariel Table by Grazia & Co in frost-stained oak anchors the room with its soft curves and grounded presence, paired with the Flos Taccia Lamp from Living Edge, which adds a gentle, sculptural glow. On the filing console, Bleed by Australian artist Paul Snell introduces a subtle wash of colour and atmosphere, shifting the energy of the space without overwhelming it. A considered workspace - deliberate, refined and supported by pieces that steady the mind.

The open-plan living and dining areas foster a sense of comfort within the raw structure of the home. In the living area, we embraced the client’s existing leather sofa as a warm, grounding element, and layered in new pieces to elevate the overall curation.
By introducing the Studio Base rug in moss, a soft green, we aimed to reference the light and movement borrowed from the outdoors, bringing it subtly into the living space. The Oxydation Occasional Tables from Domo accentuate the natural textures present throughout the space. Nested together, they create depth through quiet layering, building subtle visual interest while also providing flexible, functional pieces that can be moved and adapted according to their use.
The dining space extends naturally from the minimal kitchen, anchored by the solid oak Ethnicraft table - a piece chosen for its warmth, weight and enduring simplicity. Black accents and fixtures punctuate the room, creating a modern, refined backdrop for both family meals and evening entertaining. The north-facing orientation fills the space with soft daylight, drawing the garden inward and creating a dialogue between light, materiality and the furniture that sits within it.

Finding a balance between spaces that appeal to both adults and children is a delicate line. With two energetic young boys, the rumpus and kids’ bedroom needed durability without compromising the home’s refined tone. In the rumpus, we introduced pieces that encourage play and movement while still sitting comfortably within the broader palette. In the bedroom, the House of Orange bunk offers a solid, functional foundation - its simplicity allowing muted colours and soft textures to shine. Striped Sheet Society bedding brings a gentle, youthful rhythm, linking back to the blues and greens found in the artwork. These touches introduce curiosity and imagination, giving the boys a space that feels personal, inviting and inherently theirs.

In the main bedroom, soft form and gentle light set the tone. A deSede armchair creates a quiet moment beneath Jacob Spokes’ Chattering Eucalypts, with a slender Ligne Roset silhouette anchoring the opposite side of the room. The space opens onto a generously scaled custom bedhead in a warm, tactile weave - a detail that brings a sense of calm luxury to the retreat. The glow of an Akari light softens the edges, carrying a warmth that settles the room into a state of quiet ease. The room is calm in colour, yet confident in form, bringing in elements from the rest of the home to create a sense of continuity and warmth.
Overall, the home now carries a sense of ease - grounded by thoughtful selections, lifted by gentle colour, and shaped around the rhythms of a young family. Every space feels connected yet characterful, offering room to grow while keeping the warmth of everyday life at its centre.
